The dean of the Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology is stepping down to take a new position at the university, officials announced Thursday.

Effective June 30, dt ogilvie will leave her post as dean to become RIT's distinguished professor of urban entrepreneurship and  chairman of the advisory board for RIT’s Center for Urban Entrepreneurship.

RIT officials credited Ogilvie—who joined RIT in 2012—with many accomplishments during her tenure, including improved academic rankings, the creation of a joint master's degree of science and computational finance in partnership with the college of science, and a new focus on marketing that resulted in a rise in undergraduate applications.

“Dean ogilvie brought tremendous energy and a spirit of innovation to her work at Saunders,” said Jeremy Haefner, RIT provost. “We are pleased that our university and our Center of Urban Entrepreneurship will continue to benefit from her considerable knowledge and experience.”

Haefner said an interim dean will be named while a successor is identified.
