Wilmorite proposes project at Schoen Place

Rochester Business Journal
March 2, 2017

Wilmorite Inc. is proposing a boutique hotel-spa-restaurant at Schoen Place in Pittsford, the Scottsville-based firm announced Thursday.

The plan includes mixed-use retail-office buildings, parking, gardens and greenspace. The New England/farm style design proposed complements design found in Pittsford, the company said.

The property is owned by the Roger Powers family and is under contract with Wilmorite. The plan will be to start with the village planning board, architectural review board and historic Pittsford preservation board, Wilmorite said.

Company officials noted the project is very preliminary, but they look forward to presenting their concept to village boards.

“This project is very different from anything else that has been proposed in the village of Pittsford and we are hoping that the community sees its value and uniqueness,” said Paul Wilmot, Wilmorite president.

Wilmorite ranked second on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of real estate developers and 22nd on the private companies list.

On the surface, the scale of this project looks very inconsistent with the feel of Schoen Place. If Westport Crossing is any guide, Wilmorite has an uphill battle with the Village Planning Board on their hands. Link to plan below.  Read More >
